FAIM THERAPEUTIC PROJECT WORKER WITH EXPERIENCE IN GROUP WORK
FACILITATION (FULL-TIME)
IN SYNC Youth & Family Services supports young people, children and
families in Co. Kildare & West Wicklow to enable them to live a full
and active life within their communities and society.
The FAIM Project (Family Assessment & Intervention Model) is a
differential response type model. It is an initiative developed by IN
SYNC Youth & Family Services and Tusla, the Child and Family Agency in
Kildare/West Wicklow. It aims to ensure child welfare concerns are
addressed as quickly as possible and to provide children and families
with an assessment of need and a brief intervention based on their
needs.
We are now recruiting a Therapeutic Project Worker to join this
experienced team. In this role you will work one on one with
individuals or lead group interventions, providing essential support
to the FAIM team.
The purpose of the role is to support parents and/or children and/or
young people by engaging them in one to one interventions or
time-limited group work interventions with the goal of improving
outcomes for children and families.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE MUST DEMONSTRATE THAT THEY HAVE:
* A recognised third level qualification in one of the following:
* Social Work
* Social Care
* Youth / Community Work
* Early Childhood Care & Education
* Education
* or a related discipline e.g. Nursing, Psychology, and Early Years
Education etc.
* A minimum of 3 years’ experience of working with young people,
children and families in a paid capacity.
* Experience of delivering time-limited, evidence based
interventions with children, young people, or families
* Experience of group facilitation would be an advantage
* Knowledge of NVR, Parents Plus, and other relevant programmes is
not essential but desirable
THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE WILL INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING;
* Actively engage with individuals through provision of one to one
or group based, non-judgemental support.
* Work collaboratively with individuals to identify their specific
needs and make referrals as appropriate;
* Deliver evidence-based and evidence-informed programmes to
parents/children/young people in Kildare & West Wicklow.
* Conduct home visits to support parents/young person’s/children's
engagement and participation.
* Collaborate with other staff in the FAIM team, In Sync Youth &
Family services, Tusla and in the community.
* Participate in team meetings, Communities of Practice, ongoing
training and supervision and proactively identify training relevant to
the role, share learning from any training or events attended on
behalf of In Sync Youth and Family Services.
* Any other duties that may be requested from time to time in
agreement with In Sync youth and family services.
IN SYNC Youth & Family Services will employ the successful candidate
on an initial * month fixed-term contract,
including a 6 month probationary period.
